Rich
[ QUOTE ] My circumstances are changing so going to be doing alot more miles, already got a fair few on the S3 so looking at alternatives [/ QUOTE ] Potentially in the same boat, almost made my mind up on a 330D, but then things changed and I decided the S3 can stay...doing a full circle now, but not sure I'd be happy with the 330d. I want the performance of my S3 in a larger, more comfortable, more luxurious car that is cheap to buy and run!!! Currently have a 1.9 TDI A6 avant as a loaner and I quite like it, except its auto, not fast enough and I've realised really quickly how I take 4 wheel drive for granted!! shao_khan
Oh well if you havent got one yet then look at the bora highline tdi - quite a saving over a golf. See the Skoda on 5th gear last night?
Hopsta
Rich, I've got an A6 Tdi too (1.9) manual for a loaner. Quite impressed with the smoothness and accelleration, although its a very big car it doesn't feel that big. Missed 5th gear last night, is it repeated ? was out with my dealer

The Multitronic is really smooth isn't it! Its not that slow either, but not sure I could live with it long term, think I will be craving more power..suppose I could always chip it, but then I would be looking to buy second hand and probably quite high mileage already, if I'm gonna be doing high mileage I don't want to get a car I will loose loads of money on. The A6 is big, but then I'm also thinking my girlfriend can use it to cart her dogs around in (more mileage - dog shows all over the country!) and then we can get something sporty to replace her car with, maybe a mini cooper s or something. thats MY plan, but then I will still be driving the "wagon" so want something decent! Its a blemin difficult decision, I love my S3!! Keep thinking its best to do it before the warranty runs out though (sept). Rich
Rich
Oops, just realised you said you have a manual. Nice to know thats smooth too, the auto definately is!!
Hopsta
My oringinal thoughts were to get a Golf TDi.. not sure if it would be a 130/150 variant. I may need to release some cash up towards the end of the year too so that will tie in there. But I want to stay with Audi, so will start looking at the A3 130's as and when. Pete's was a nice car, just too early for me to decide and had too many miles
s4_sat
how about an a4 1.9 tdi 130.nice car and quite quick too.loads about too so you can afford to be picky.

MPG together with stock S3 & stock R32 (had to be careful there ) beating performance (eats 1.8T's for brekkie)... You missed a great opportunity.
