NIGGYNOO
Did anybody attempt to fit an S3 leather interior into an A3? - I remember there being a post on this a few weeks ago!! I have an opportunity to purchase one and need some advice on fitting. Its in black/red - does anybody have any pics to give me an idea of how it looks? Thanks in advance for any help
khufu
I would imagine it would physically fit in fine, it maybe more the problem of wiring it in - I take it that it will be electric/heated and the wiring for it may not be there. As a matter of interest what sort of money are they asking for them?
Blaa
I haven't gotten around to buy the Recaro's yet. But I've checked with Audi here in Norway, and they recon it'll work. But there is this thing with the wireing. I'm attatching the wireing scheme (right?) for the Recaro's: You see the wire on top? With connectors 41-45, that one is already in your A3 if you've got electric lumbar adjustment. If not you'd also have to retrofit that wire. Atleast that's what I'm told. Ben
[ QUOTE ] Its in black/red - does anybody have any pics to give me an idea of how it looks? Thanks in advance for any help [/ QUOTE ] Did they ever make a black/red combo? AFAIK only blue, yellow and grey were the alacantra colour options. Post some pics up if you get the chance Cheers Ben
NIGGYNOO
I've been quoted £1200 (before haggling)for S3 interior, steering wheel, brakes, alloys, mirror covers and suspension - doesnt sound bad(Depending on condition)I do know that one of the side airbags has gone off - so this would need to be repaired but I think I would probably just have it stuffed and stiched up. I have the wheels anyway - but may buy and sell on. Its not really my intention to turn my A3 into an S3 look-a-like(and I dont realy have the funds at mo)but I think something on my drivers seat is broken, as it has the annoying habit of slowly tilting back and its a bit fiddly to release the catch when lifting it, so if it needs replacing I may as well upgrade to leather. khufu
It would sound tempting, but it is a lot of money even if it is a good price - does the interior include the clocks with the S3 logo Of couse unless your A3 is a quattro the suspension at the back wouldn't fit at all and I'd make sure you get the front hubs to go with the brakes. As you say though, buy and sell on anything you can't use.
