How often do you check tyre pressures ?

  1. 1. How often do you check tyre pressures ?

I've totally debadged my A4 (inc the Quattro badges) at the back because it looks too fussy with all the badges, PDC and lower valance. Now it looks so much cleaner.

People will still know its a diesel because there are no exhaust pipes showing, but won't know its a remapped one. grin.gif

This is how it used to look at the back, I'm sure you'll agree it looks too messy.

...and nothing to do with the fact it's a TDI not an RS6... which is what i thought it was - until i saw the badge

Wrong model mate.

My car is an A4, not an A6 which is the next size model up from an A4 and doesn't pretend to be anything other than a nice looking A4 Avant. smirk.gif

Still in two minds about the debadging. I'm getting the exhaust extensions for my s-line TDI, which would take the diesel look out of the equation even more ... well at least until they here that farmyard roar yelrotflmao.gif

(now where can I buy 3.2 badges... hmmm? notworthy.gif)

My Car came debadged - didn't bother me I do prefer it.

The exhaust will almost certainly give the game away - dont you think?

Cheers

I understand that you can have chrome exhaust extentions on the A3 2.0Tdi, which does look very nice. 169144-ok.gif

There must be some pics on here but if not there was a guy on ukmkiv's that did it to his.

My car came debadged as part of the original order and with the older A3T you can't see the exhaust anyway just like the Tdi, so it keeps folks guessing.

Debadging is a tough call and is like ordering any of the S or RS cars, do you take the alu mirrors or not.....

I thought the exhausts pointed down for a reason, isn't it soot damaging the paintwork?

Another reason to debadge is to make the car less attractive to thieves.

Don't kid yourself, an opportunist thief will nick anything that's unlocked or available and a proffessional will take it just for the parts.

And what has that reply got to do with the debadging issue?

Did you reply to the wrong post?

Of course an unbadged car is less likely to be stolen!

Imagine you are a car thief for a moment. You are in a dark and deserted car park at night with no security cameras.

(Car thief utopia)

You have a choice of cars to steal , all of which are lined up in a row of spaces. You see badges which say M5 , R32 , GTI , 147 GTA and various cars which say things like 1.6 , 1.8 or have no badge at all.

Do you ?

A) Ignore all the badged ones and go specially to inspect the unbadged ones in case one of them is something fast debadged ? or

B) Go for the obviously fast and expensive car so that you won't waste you time having stolen a 1.6 in the hope it might be an R32.

It's a no brainer! jump.gif

I've debadged every car I've owned except the R32. I made the decision as I want to sell it on with the badges intact.

Personally, I think cars look nicer with badges........ in the immortal words of one mexican in Blazing Saddles

"Badges! we don' neeeeed no steeinking badges!!"

Aye, I think they do in most cars so I suppose the customer takes that risk on board when they get replacements.

Saw a BMW 530d with straight pipes recently - not sure if they're standard tho'
