jimboy
Hi all, Im new to this site and am after some advice on buying.Im torn between an Audi s3 or an e36 m3 evo convertible(not smg).I have viewed a 98 r reg m3 today and by all accounts the thrust bearing had gone because there was a nasty rattle when the car had warmed up with the clutch depressed in neutral the car body also seemed to be vibrating all over and the silver leather looked tatty for a car with only 58k are these common problems or have I just found a dog.If they are I think I'll be going for an s3. Any advice much appreciated. cheers Jim.
Gaunty
Hi Jimboy, welcome to the forum. Don't go for the dog, if you've spotted problems with it you'll always be in doubt. Hold out for something better.
Lagoo
Jim, As much as i like "M" series cars is it really worth going for a n older car when you could pretty much have a brand new S3, the performance differences between the M3 cab and S3 are minimal! simonp
Hi Jim If you're happy to go for a non-convertible, then my '97 Techno Violet coupe is up for 14-15k. Need to sell ASAP cos I'm after a 330D. Let me know and I'll post the spec. Cheers Simon
