dbr10 Posted May 10, 2005 Report Share Posted May 10, 2005 My 330d Touring is in a certain well known BMW independent in Wokingham. In attempting to change the glowplugs, they managed to get one out minus it's thread, break the 2nd in the head, and then for some bizarre reason tried the other 4 and broke them all! At no time did they call me to say they were having difficulties and explaining the potential risks and costs involved if they proceeded. They are saying that's it's common for glowplugs to corrode in heads and hence are looking to me to pay the full costs of removing the head, and repairing - £700 worth. I'm already up to £1000 plus for the other work they have done, which I don't dispute. Their reputation is very good anf I'm taken back by their attitude. Not only have they now left me without transport for probably a week or more but they expect me to pay for their hamfisted approach. Any suggestions / similar experiences.
