spuddie007
Hi All My car's in Whetstone Audi for a 60k service (yes I know, but I wanto to keep the FASH!), and they've quoted me £540 All-in for Front and Rear Brake pads and rear discs as well as the normal brake fluid change. I've told them not to do it for now, but wanted to know if anyone else thinks this is a majorly high amount to pay? The car is an S3 (210) on a W plate!? Any responses gratefully received! tinka
its about right for a main dealer i suppose, but i would get the service done by them just to keep up the history and do the discs and pads yourself, and get the parts from some one like oemparts?,that must save a couple of hundred quid in labour charges and a bit on the parts too?. activa
Don't know how main agents get away with these prices. How can they justify that price for that job.Are the Audi supplied discs made of gold or something. As Tom says,Europarts will supply them for you and they won't be any different. NewNiceMrMe
If you've had the service at the dealers, and got the stamp, why pay for the discs/pads at dealer prices? The FSH from the dealer is what matters, not necessarily having consumable parts replaced elsewhere. Who'll know? You'll still have the service stamps in the book. Up to you ultimately, as only you know when you're likely to sell the car and any potential knock-on impact on price.
spuddie007
Nope, I agree, I'll call on Euro Car Parts tommorrow, and find a garage to fit them for me. I think that'll be cheaper, much cheaper, than Audi. You are right though, I only had the service done by them to keep the FASH in case I sell the car on. I'm glad I'm not the only person who was shocked at these prices! Thanks. Spuddie.
