rek
Hi this is my first post so if I have posted incorrectly please let me know. I have an S reg polo with a window stuck half way. I have removed the regulator as it appears that this is the stuck part. when I set the motor to lower the regulator cable slackens but no movement in window grabs, when the motor is set to raise the cable tightens and the motor stops under load. Is this a common problem and does anyone know if it requires a whole new regulator or if a part needs replacing. Thanks BTW I know little about car workings but good at taken things apart (and sometimes can put them back togther) Robert
rek
I did some more taking apart and found that the cable was broken inside the winding box. Does anyone know what needs to be bought to repair it?
Ritey
Welcome to TSN, Not sure about the wiring, probably best to get a Haynes manual or ring up your friendly local dealer
Kush
Hi, I had a simliar problem with my '97 Mk4 Polo 16v. I think its a common problem with the 6N Polo's so much infact that they produced a repair kit for them. These kits are available @ your local VW dealer. mulkbear
I don't know of any repair kits for the 6n polos, the full window reg kits are around the £40 mark and are simple to fit (4 bolts and swap the motor around)
