Ipod & Concert CD

Recommended Posts

Don't bother with Dension unless you have money to burn and next to no DIY skill.

Instead take a look at PaulW's excellent guide here.

I've done this myself to my Concert unit, all that remains is the sourcing of a fog light switch to replace the switch currently installed in the glovebox.

PM me if you want any tips/hints. 169144-ok.gif

yea - go for the icelink or connects 2 - saves a naff DIY job and you get full control on your HU. I have heard that you need to disable the Euro output restrictor on the iPod so that you dont have to crank the headunit volume up! It is basically a setting that stops the volume to the headphones going over a certain level and makes the output through the headunit a little quiter..... Search google for it..... Its not required, just better i believe!

...and what if you've decided to be an individual and choose an alternative brand of MP3 player?

I bought a Toshiba Gigabeat MEG-F60 (60GB) player because (a) I already have >40GB of music, (b) iPod Photo's 8-10hrs battery life isn't good enough, © the Gigabeat's screen has better contrast and higher res, (d) it's pysically smaller, (e) it's at least £30 cheaper and (f) it isn't an iPod! ha.gif

I thought about the Ice-Link, but decided that it didn't justify buying an iPod. Doing the aux-in mod myself has saved me money on the Ice-Link, saved me money on the iPod and also means that if the other half wants to watch a film while I'm driving she can plug the laptop into the stereo for decent sound.
