Chillihead
Hi, noticed this Cruise control On E-bay I enquired how easy it was to fit.........................Here is the reply. Hello, This cruise stalk is fitted in place of the standard stalk you have now, then you'll need the loom for it for you car which is £17.50 if bought at the same time as the stalk. YOu fit the stalk and plug the loom in. Cruise is already in the ECU of the car, all that needs to be done is for the cruise control to be turned on in the ECU and that's it! fully operational cruise control! Once the parts are fitted, you will need a VW or Audi garage or main dealer to turn on cruise on the ECU and thats it! I hope this helps, if you would like to order a stalk and loom, please just send me a mail back and I'll set up an order with paypal for you. Is this correct, if so I think it is a great price, or is it a load of ? autobahn
Had cruise retro fitted on my 2004 A3 by an Audi dealer. In my case the cruise stalk is different to the one shown and does not replace any other stalks. Therefore it was a third separate stalk and a new bottom cowling was required to accomodate. This is the standard cruise fitment on all mk2 A3s (the one advertised is identical to, as stated, the cruise stalk on my old mk4 Golf GTI). Other than that I was told by the dealer it wasn't complicated as the software was already fitted. Depends if yours is a mk1 or mk2 I guess, but I would check first with a reliable stealer. Paul
Amd have done both my S3's. and they are welcome to. Its not straight forward. you have to take the steering wheel and air bag off with a secial tool to start. its a nuit that is supposed to only be used x amount of times. there is a loom missing between the connection box on bulk head and the big plug into the ECU. some newer cars 2001 on the ECU is in a security cage and has to be broken into. you need vagcom to enable it.
