h5djr Posted September 9, 2005 Report Share Posted September 9, 2005 Must be the different characteristics of the 3.2 over the 2.0TDI. I always go into my garage forwards. It works much better for getting out of the car and I usually have something in the back so I need to open the tailgate. Mine just creeps OK in 1st and stops using the foot-brake. If I release the foot-brake it just creeps slowly forward again, no jump or lurch. I must admit I always park forward into any paking space because most of the time I need to get into the tailgate and, especially in a multi-story car park as it's quicker and causes less problem to other drivers following. It annoys me when a car in front stops and then spends ages reversing into a space. They then go shopping for example and come back with bags etc and have to squeeze between the parked cars to get to the back and open the tailgate. Much better to just walk up to the back of the car, open the tailgate, put in the shopping and get in the car and reverse out of the space when it's clear to do so.
