skifly
is this supposed to work? Mine doesnt seem to do anything?
gribs
You have to hold it down for about 2 seconds. That said it doesn't work every time and seems to be dependant on the rest of the doors being unlocked. I'd like some clarification as to the exact procedure. The boot also has an autolock feature, so don't drop your keys in there and close it.
RedRobin
Hi skifly....I've been having exactly the same problem and it's the same problem on both of my keys. Come to the car just to open the boot and nothing usually happens no matter how hard I dig into the button. when it has worked it's been great....especially how it automatically locks itself again on boot closure. RedRobin
Ah, gribs, you posted at the same time I was asking my friendly neighbourhood dealer - He independently confirmed the 2-3 second hold-down but the boot should also unlock when everything else is locked - That's actually the whole point of it! silentandy
Another warning about locking your keys in. I found out the other day that it's technically possible to lock your keys in the car. If you press the lock button while the door is open, it automatically locks it when you shut it, so if you've left your keys inside you're in trouble. I know this because I was impatient in locking the car the other day while my gf was still getting out, to my surprise it still locked the other doors and her door once she closed it. RedRobin
Hi Andy....You wrote: "If you press the lock button while the door is open, it automatically locks it when you shut it, so if you've left your keys inside you're in trouble." ....Perhaps I'm being thick but if you are outside the car using the key fob to lock, how do you leave your keys inside? You can't separate your ignition key from the locking fob. I guess it happens if you ACCIDENTALLY action the locking while inside and then leave the car with key inside still. No matter....It's simply a matter of being aware and taking care.
gribs
[ QUOTE ] Ah, gribs, you posted at the same time I was asking my friendly neighbourhood dealer - He independently confirmed the 2-3 second hold-down but the boot should also unlock when everything else is locked - That's actually the whole point of it! [/ QUOTE ] So you can only open the boot when everything else is locked? Or the key fob only works when the doors are locked? I'm still confused! Maybe I should do the honourable thing and get the manual out

ucjtckc
I thought mine didn't work as well but read the manual and can concur with others on here. With the car locked as normal press the middle boot unlock button and keep it depressed until you hear the boot unlocking - this can be anything up to 3 to 4 seconds. Don't press the button briefly as though you were pressing the unlock/lock buttons as it doesn't work in the same way.
aswall
Mine works like this 1 click on unlock button unlocks drivers door only 2nd click (immediately) unlocks passenger door and boot Holding boot button unlocks boot door whatever the locking status of the other door. Pressing the unlock button on the door unlocks all doors and the boot
