Aye, you might well need a moderator's help in blanking your plates if you really want too, but it's not the end of the world eh?

Modifications, well in performance terms you won't see much of a gain from the 1.0-litre powerplant so the best bet there if you want to spend some money on it is an induction kit and a stainless steel cat-back exhaust system, which if not giving you too much more power under your right foot, it will make things sound nicer!

In the looks department, if you don't want to go too mad, then some 15" alloys on 195/45/15 tyres will suit nicely, and some cosmetic upgrades from higher-spec Polos will improve the way your car looks too, for example fitting a mesh grille from GTi (have a look at mine here to see what I'm on about!), some OEM foglights and a GTi splitter would improve things no end at the front of the car in my opinion 169144-ok.gif

Take a look at the Polo galleries in the Tyresmoke albums, and also have a gander at the Polo/Lupo photo thread where TSN members have posted some images of their cars which might give you some ideas on what you might want to do with yours!

On the interior, maybe some TT alloy pedals to brighten up your footwell? They look the nuts and you won't have any fears about slippy feet as the rubber grips provide plenty of grip to your feet - plus they're less than £30 delivered at VAGParts.com!

Hehe thanks blush.gif

I really like the BBS rims to be honest, my only gripe is that mine are corroded around the rims and have a couple of marks on the spokes there too. They need a refurbishment ideally, so it's something to look out for with this particular type of split-rim alloy. From what I understand the rim and centres are made from two different types of metal which react against each other if left untreated and cause the corrosion - road grime and, in the Winter months salt, accelerate the effect!

A fully refurbished set of four in A1 condition with tyres of some description would probably set you back around £350-400 on eBay, as a rough guide crazy.gif

There are other choices of course, I'll dig out a few pictures of some alernatives such as Ronal Turbos, RH Cups, Superleggeras and so on, but at the end of the day buying a set of alloy wheels can be quite a big outlay, so make sure you get some that you like, and not just what everyone else likes - can't go wrong with the BBS ones though 169144-ok.gif

The TSW Apex is a classic look that is nice and affordable, I really like them as a simple clean design that suits almost anything 169144-ok.gif

Anyway, I promised pics, so here goes...

First off, mine (black Polo) in standard trim at Bodelwyddan earlier this year. The red GTi next to mine is is lowered 80mm on refurbished black-centred BBS rims (note the difference in ride-height!):

Ronal Turbos, again with a hefty drop on coilovers:

RH Classics (I think), fitted to a 6n (pre-facelift model but same wheel fitment/offset as yours and mine):

Couple more yet, stay tuned...

OK, couple more (not sure if I can post a half dozen images all in one user post hence double-posting!)...

OZ Superleggeras in an anthracite finish:

polosuperleggeras2il.jpg

RH Toplines, polished finish, apparently VERY hard to keep clean as brake dust doesn't shift too well:

And finally, ATS Cups, a marmite wheel (love 'em or hate 'em):

All of these images show Polos on 15" rims, you can of course go bigger but then the tyres become more expensive and lowering is not so easy!

Wotcha reckon?
