Ska
I've found one on ebay the part number is exactly the same apart from the last letter; 4D0 927 156 H mines E and the one on ebay is H, is it compatible?
PaulW
I would think it would work. Tozo at audiworld has used his 97 A8 TCU on his 2002 tranny.... I purchased a 98 TCU which has a different revision letter than my original 97 TCU, it works just fine. Can't remember what my 98 TCU part number is. Ska
Hi Paul, The thing is this guys TCU is for the CML tip. box and seems to advertise it as a 4 speed (I think- my German not so good). Will this still be able to deal with my 5 speed tiptrnic? So if the last letter is only revsion letter then a tcu from a 3.7or 4.2 is exchangeable with that of a 2.8 V6? I've got this nagging feeling someone said the part numbers had to be exactly the same and that TCU/ECU's wern't interchangeable from car to car? Ska
Can someone with ETKA check what engine and gearbox codes are compatible with the TCU 4D0 927 156 E, please?
PaulW
Just looked it up, it's a control unit for a 4 speed automatic gear box, won't work for a 4HP24A (32 and 40 valve 4.2 quattro gearbox). If you have a 4HP24A, I think any other year that had that same gearbox (only on the 4.2 quattro) could use the same TCU. But skip on this one, unless you have a 4 speed automatic gearbox.
