shark_90
Excellent phone, but I left the SE camp for a Nokia N70 last week. I miss a lot of the features on the K750 but the Nokia is so useable being a Symbian phone I couldn't resist. The camera is easily on par with the Sony one too
Al_H
ive currently got a Sharp GX25, sick to death of flip phones and it only has 1 meg memory. Selling it to a colleague. Should have it from the 16th onwards
NewNiceMrMe
Yep, as has already been said it's a fantastic phone. I used to have a T610, then made the mistake of getting a Motorola V547. The K750i is simply brilliant though, and the camera is excellent to.
TriGGa
its an awesome phone. Had it for a short while after my Nokia 9300 but then got a 6680 but thats mainly cos im a nokia man! But definately one of the nicest SE has ever made!
Durrsaku
K750 rocks, have had mine since June and after been this week at the Phones 4U shop there still no phone out there that can outperform it. Everyone else is playing catch up. SE is the Audi of the mobile world.

pingpongpo
Whats the advantage of the W800 over the K750i?
Paul
bigger memory card supplied standard (can buy what you want to fit in it anyway) Slightly better Mp3 player (branded walkman) headphones i think are better( can change or mod these anyway) and flightmode (if your airline allow it) you can listen to mp3 with mobile side of things OFF. basically very little. K750i can even take the w800 firmware if you want to hack it.
Thorburn
Got a W800 and I love it.
Belchy
The 02 version of this phone comes with extremely buggy firmware. Do a search and you will find most of the problems are with the o2 phones. A mate of mine went through 3 replacements and on the last one he "debranded" it by putting the proper sony firmware on it ... since then its been ok. He has now put the W800 firmware on it for the extra functions and it is still stable. Amazon are selling them here sim free with original sony firmware for £250 which is the same price as the o2 payg version I have just been through all this as I'm getting one myself

shark_90
Is it branded Chris? If not then it'll just have the standard firmware instead of the mashed up crap that O2 like to use.
NewNiceMrMe
Well it comes up with the O2 logo and O2 internet options on the menu's, if that's what you mean.
Belchy
The post was asking for advice on the phone and having gone through this myself I discovered via google that the o2 firmware is very buggy. Do a search yourself and you will see. Try here for starters This was confirmed to me by my friend having the exact problems mentioned on the web Also, the o2 firmware makes the phone run slower, the battery run out quicker and the screen is much less vivid. Thats not to say that every o2 phone will break ... they jsut are running a much less efficient firmware. Mrme .. Try debranding your phone and you will see the difference. In fact, put the W800 firmware on it The thing is, Amazon are selling an unbranded sim free one for the same money so imo that is without doubt the one to go for. [/ QUOTE ] Probably is then, but it might well not have dodgy firmware For those of you that don't know you can also update your firmware using your datacable and software from the Sony site, takes about 15 minutes and it's always worthwhile keeping up to date
Paul
[ QUOTE ] it's always worthwhile keeping up to date [/ QUOTE ] errr Shark, no it isnt.... The one bit of advice i would give is If its working LEAVE IT ALONE! 216 pages of discussion here of people having trouble with updates that were worse than what they had originally. shark_90
I had to update mine when I got it as there was a bug in the firmware, when the clock screensaver came on it wouldn't unlock I suppose most could say if it's not broke, don't fix it, but I suppose they pay teams of people hundreds of thousands of pounds a year to develop new firmware for a reason! Paul
true... but there have been documented cases of GPRS being disabled completely Video sampling reduced picture quality reduced And generally worse off than before the update. with a not very forthcomming corrected update from SE. Alot of people were pissed off, and even some of the networks got SE to block the updates to their customers if the system detected it was one of their phones. Im still on my original firmware and its been flawless, I dont want to introduce bugs and make it glitchy!
Omi
I'm not commenting, but I'll just say I'm sure you can all imagine how popular this phone and the W800i are, coupled with some fairly hefty bugs. (Some of which decimate the Memory Stick permanently.) Keeps me busy anyway.

It has never crashed, the battery life is seemingly endless, I've not had a single glitch with it and I am very much of the belief that if it ain't broke.... TriGGa
Hey guys .. seems like i post one time and all hell breaks loose! From experience it was just the first batch of K750s that O2 had. They were happy to replace them and wotnot.. or you would just recieve a D750 .. ( the tmobile version which looks like a blue W800) Also bout all this flashing and meddling with software.. personally its a mugs game if your just a phone user.. It is however.. very profitable (sell on.. or personal use) if you have a "greater" interest in phones. Some people, ( kinda like me...) continually upgrade or change phones to hav certain features.. and so are constantly searchin the sites to find the latest mobile.. therefore would most likely h ave greater knowledge So.. by upgrading the firmware.. you can sit tight and not have to worry about an upgrade for a while.. Even still best have it done by a recommended phone shop .. if you do any meddling yourself.. ur just asking for trouble!
Belchy
All this talk of upgrading firmware is irrellevant. The originator of the post is buying a NEW phone and he can get one with the correct firmware without f@ckin about. Why buy a new new phone with a left footed firmware when you can get one for the same price sim free with the latest sony firmware?
Omi
Oh I dunno... Maybe the latest SonyEricsson firmware is fatally flawed? Won't do PC transfers without forgetting where it put the files, chews memory sticks, locks up...
