T_Rifles
RDP is apparently available on XP Home SP2, but when I got to the Remote tab of System Properties, only Remote Assistance is there. Anyone know how to get this to work/appear?
Gaunty
I found this with a quick google. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/mobility/rdfaq.mspx
T_Rifles
Yeah I have read those and most other google results. Most, and even MS sites say this only available on XP Pro. But since SP2 XP home has the executable, but the option to turn remote desktop is not available on any of 3 XP Home SP2 computers that I have. T_Rifles
Oh, I think I've got it now. XP Home has the client software which allows connections to XP Pro machines which can be setup to accept connections using the "Remote" tab in System Properties. I'll try VNC. Gaunty
VNC will probably clash with RDP as it uses the same TCP port, make sure you turn RDP off.
Hopsta
Not a great fan of VNC across the 'net' I prefer Dameware, allows you to use windows authentication etc. Edit - dameware lets you change the port you're using too if needed
