help Posted January 25, 2006 Report Share Posted January 25, 2006 Can anybody help me out having trouble with a fault codes appearing on my girlfriends MK4 GOLF GT TDI 115hp the cars done 39000 on a Y reg 2001 the car was recently fitted with a tuning box an a k&n air filter the first problem is when you start the car first thing when cold the asr light stays on the only way to nock it off is to turn off and on again. The other is that fault codes keep coming up weve had it in are local dealer but would have been better taking it to Mcdonalds just didnt seem to now what to say heres the codes. 17675 valve for pump injector cylinder 3 limit exceeded intermitant. 17672 valve for pump injector cylinder 2 limit exceeded intermitant. 19561 motor intake manifold flap open or closed intermitant. Had them removed already and they just come back i think its the tuning box but i carnt be sure any help atall will be realy appreciated. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Rustynuts Posted January 25, 2006 Report Share Posted January 25, 2006 Tuning boxes cause all sorts of problems with fault codes. I'd take it off and see what happens. While you're on, take off the K & N air filter before you transfer oil the MAF and knacker that aswell. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
help Posted January 25, 2006 Author Report Share Posted January 25, 2006 Cheers i thought as much had my 130 Revo d not so long ago think i will do the same with hers il take it off tonight get the faults cleared in work an see what happerns from then. The company that did my car put a K&N on mine to can this realy cause problems i wouldnt have thought putting one on a tdi would gain any xtra bhp but i was advised it would. Rustynuts Posted January 25, 2006 Report Share Posted January 25, 2006 Given that the R32 uses the same filter element, and is quite adequate for that, there's not a lot to be said for K & N's apart from the fact that they let through more air and therefore more dirt. However, the amount of air in a TDI isn't the important factor as that's more or less governed by the MAF and the turbo, innit. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
