shakie1973
Hi guys, Thanks for all the feedback over the last couple of weeks.I've made my decision at last.I placed my order with Matt from motor depot who i have to say has been most helpfull but then again they all are at this stage,i also found the deal he gave me pretty good.Im going for the 06 shadow blue 5dr manual 17" with leater+heated seats & electric lumbar support with center arm rest.8-12 weeks he recons cant wait. One more point with regards to which fuel...i've read a few posts tellong you to use super unleaded or shell optimax etc,yet when i was looking through the dealers 06 golf catalogue it says ron 95....now ive just filled up at sainburys and their normal premium unleaded is ron 95,so what is the difference. Cheers
TwoSheds
The Golf catalogue talks about at least 95 RON fuel grade. Inside the fuel flap it recommends 98 RON to be used which I think most people would accept as good advice from the VW engine designers. After all they have nothing to gain by promoting a more expensive fuel grade.
petsy
additionally using ron95 fuel the car will develop less power than ron98 fuel.
stevie_d
It is a legal requirement of all cars to run on RON95, however, it's best for high performance cars to run on RON97 or RON98.
jonathansargent
well done shakie! I ordered from matt at Motor Depot about three weeks ago - picking it up next week. I'll pst on here how the whole thing goes! As for petrol - the general conscensus seems to be for 99 - ideaslly Optimax or Ultimate. There are some that weem to think the Tescos 99 is OK - but the jury still seems to be out on that one...
Muppetboy
so you finally went for shadow blue! It's a great colour and will mean one less steel grey on the roads...
