mccombie_5
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The CTS is a nice car, in America at least, I think the 2.8 V6 base model is about £17k equivelant. Not bad compared to what you get here for that money! [/ QUOTE ] Please don't get started on the value-for-money [but only over there] thing... you'll make me depressed [/ QUOTE ] I'm jealous of the Americans in that respect, some of the build is a bit suspect though, thats a price you pay, you still get alot of metal for your money. This is the Buick Lucerne. Available in base form with a 3800 V6, is £15k at current rates. Or £20k with the 275bhp Cadillac Northstar V8. s

[/ QUOTE ] LOL Still nice though, and a V8 for £20k!! That Chrysler is no more than OK from what I can see, I passed one on the Teeside flyover yesterday, I'd rather have the Dodge Magnum Hemi! sayerbloke
[ QUOTE ] I think the 300C is a pretty good design for a Yank car [/ QUOTE ] In my opinion, a far better looking car than, say, a modern Rolls Royce. I know they aren't the same sort of car, but they are a similar size/shape. Also: Mmm. Hemi power

Hemi power [/ QUOTE ] They make three cars based on that, the 300C, which has that grille, I dislike that alot, looks like its pulling a big smiley grin at everyone, BUT you cannot ignore the Charger Hemi and the Magnum Hemi, they look great IMO. sayerbloke
I quite like the 300C. Both it and the Charger have grown on me. The Magnum I'm not totally convinced by.
mccombie_5
I'd actually drop a Charger front end onto a Magnum. It's very possible, theyre all interchangable.

rotarynut
Hehe I'm guessing by that reaction the Hornet won't sell well in the UK at least Interesting thing I read on http://www.dodge-hornet.com is that the engine is actually the same as the one in the Mini. [/ QUOTE ] This all depends on how they price it, US street price for the sky will be about $ 25,000 or 14,500 pounds, that's a lot of roadster for 15K ! And my later comment that I suspect they won't bring over their full range, mores the pity. Edited to add: Though there is talk of the Sky possibly turning up wearing an Opel badge sooner or later... R32Ash
[ QUOTE ] I quite like the 300C. Both it and the Charger have grown on me. The Magnum I'm not totally convinced by. [/ QUOTE ] You'd be even less convinced by the Magnum if you'd driven one on a soaking freeway - after the first rain for 7 weeks - in LA rushour traffic! I had the misfortune to do exactly that last September. I'd rather not repeat the experience. I honestly don't think the steering-wheel had any bearing on direction whatsoever. The saving grace was the 2.7 V6's complete lack of guts - it 'sort of' kept me out of trouble. Edited to add: Here's a pic to prove said (hideous) car's existence too. You can't take it for granted these days.
rotarynut
More details revealed - the Dodge Hornet will a joint effort between Dodge and VW and the car will be based off the VW Polo platform. They'll build the car in VW's Mexico plant starting late next year / early 2008. Source - www.dodge-hornet.com
