Getting access to SIM card on SE T630 with RNS-E

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Very new to Tyresmoke as I have just bought an Audi A4 Cab 3.0 Quattro - lovely car. Have previously been an active poster on Lotus and Subaru forums and have to say the impression so far of Tyresmoke is of a knowledgeable and friendly bunch - I look forward to getting involved.

I think this question is probably one for CraigB and Petroldave.

I have done my research on this forum and on NavPlus, but can't work out where I am going wrong.

My car has RNS-E with the Audi Factory fitted phone kit. I have just bought the Cullman cradle for my SE T630.

All seems fine in the handsfree department in terms of talking and listening, but I can't get access to my SIM phonebook and the calls listings.

It strikes me that there are one of 3 things going on here, and would love some help working out which it is:

1 - My car doesn't have a multi-function steering wheel - is that crticial to the extended functionality of the handsfree?

2 - My RNS-E coding needs changing - I have picked up that mich from the Navplus forums, but wouldn't know how to do it myself.

3 - My SE firmware needs updating. I am not ruling this out, but I also tried my Wife's V3 Razr on a BT connection and the handsfree worked fine but no access to the SIM. As I know this phone has recently been made to work by CraigB, then I assume that the phones are OK and the problem is probably in the car

All help greatly appreciated

Cheers

Mark

Do you get the Bluetooth logo on the RNS-E when they pair up? You need software 360 minimum (2005_2 disk) and both the RNS-E and the phone module coded to high. Also the phone module has to be a C or F revision, these things you can determine with VAG.
