AGK512
just spotted another opinion on theMkV R32 linky
swil00
Well each to their own and all that, but personally I think this reviewer is talking a load of Typical motoring press review IMO. I test drove a MKIV and bought one, 2yrs later I drove a MKV and have now bought one... I buy cars on what I think of them, not what the motoring press think ! Yes a Scooby or Evo may be faster, but I know what I'd rather have.....
dazr32
what a tosser there is nothing wrong with the mk 4 he is off his chuffing head. you have got to be pushing both models pretty effing hard to make yourself feel queesy, maybe his thong was tugging a little
rs32
am going to pick up on 2 things from this guy's article. 1.) This is not the first time VW have mated DSG with a V6. Learn the VAG brand nob-end. 2.) The impreza does not soak up the bumps as well as the .:R (of course IMO) - as I have posted elsewhere the .:R actually feels lighter than the scooby to me even though it weighs more. The scooby leans more in corners and does not instill as much confidence as the .:R (again IMO). OK - he's right about something, the scooby is quicker. I would be willing to wager he's driven neither the MkIV or MkV .:R's or the Scooby/Evo for any decent amount of time. All are cracking motors, I reckon he drives a SsangYong or a Kia. [/rant at muppet] btw, hi MayConv sorry to go all negative on your post
AGK512
Yea don't shoot the messenger as they say ! It thought it would generate some reaction ! .... just off to order mine to cheer myself up with all this negativity around !
pompeysteve
The postman has just delivered the Autocar mag i've bought on ebay, October 2002, which has a full mk1V road test. How can 2 reviews by professional journos differ so wildly? I know which one i agree with anyway!
magrillz
I suppose ti is all down to personal opinion but it does make you wonder how they differ so greatly. EVO did a group test on the MK IV R32 against the Cupra R, S3, Alfa 147 GTA and the Impreza WRX and guess which one came out tops. Yep the R32. Don't get me wrong they will all pick up on the odd thing but overall most of the reviews I read came out on the positive side.
Smudge
Me thinks David Finlay needs to learn how to drive.
