neilp
That's the nav control for the standard DIS navigation and nothing to do with RNS-D, the same controls are directly on the RNS-D unit itself.

Crusader01
Extended Menu Controller. I would like one of those too. There is some photos of one thats been retrofitted over on Navplus.us. Italian fellow I think called Rosnik. I think VAGPARTS quoted me £75ish for the switch but I don't know what wires come with it or where they attach to. Please let us know if you make any progress. Soapsuds
I have completed this retro-fit mod, just rarely shout about it! Got the switch and new housing (ciggy lighter part) from Vag parts and the Navigation unit and wiring loom from germany - there are loads on eBay. GPS aerials are 10-a-penny on ebay, ust make sure you get a good one with SMB-F conector. I bought the DX navigation cd-unit version 4.2 which has TMC enabled. Have a 2006 TeleAtlas dic running TMC. Instaled in my glovebox. Easy install and i got the ElsaWin wiring diagrams off craigyb - you simply pop the cluster out and wire the loom into the DIS. Also need Gala speed signals and reversing signals - details on NavPlus formums as most of the wiring is similar to the RNS-E in that respect. Feel free to ask any questions! Will be glad to help
Crusader01
I have a few q's....... How many wires does the extended menu controller have and where do they go? and Whats the wiring loom called in German or do you have any links to one. Can't recall seeing them on Kuftec (sp?) Many thanks C Think I might get the controller ordered from Vagparts today.

[/ QUOTE ] gime 10 mins and i will find the Kufatec link for you - they are on eBay also, but cost the same, so use Kufatec..... The harness has a 'bare' end of wires. These all terminate in the DIS and you will need a wiring diagram off ElsaWin to find out the terminal numbers. For some reason, i have missplaced mine that craigyb sent me..... there are about 15 wires. Once these are installed, you are left with the connector that clips into the nav buttons - nice and simple! The other wires then go to the Reverse Light feed, Gala or ABS (for speed-sense) and also illumination for your navi-buttons. Also needs +12v permanent and +12v switched and an earth. The other connectors then clip into your CD-Navigation unit and link to the back of your Concert2 or Symphony head unit. I bought all the parts separately and sourced a navigation disk off ebay. The cd-drive and navigation CD are the most expensive items. As i got it in dribs-and drabs i did the install over time. The DIS wiring is easy, but be gentle!!! Will find that Kufatec link in a momoent for you..... remeber t order a new cigarette lighter flippy bit that the buttons clip into. This is required and you need to remove your central console to fit it.

Crusader01
Ah I see where Alan and Neil are coming from now, what is really needed is one of these controllers in the attachment as opposed to the RNS-C setup. Regards C Ps Don't suppose the extended menu controller would allow you to access the Audi Bluetooth, not having a multif function wheel and only RNS-D
Soapsuds
there are various controllers that fit in there..... you can get ones with tyre pressure monitor etc, but i dont know about the phone prep side of things - i run a parrot set-up in mine. Post in the ICE / Nav forum and craigyb might shed light on something for you. J.
