scots_warrior
Hi, could anyone help me, I am at my wits end with this car. Over a space of time I have been experiencing power loss with my car,in the last 2 months I have had my car fully serviced including timing belts and suspension, and I am now concentrating on the power loss, I have replaced the air mass meter, turbo waste gate and connection and today I replaced the egr valve, when I saw the condition of the egr valve I removed I thought that I had gotten to the root of the problem alas it was not to be.The car has great acceleration up through the gearbox, but when you go uphill and are in top gear the car falls over at about 65mph,and losses power,no matter how hard you push on the throttle the car does not respond and losses speed, even if I drop back thru the gears the power still does not return, but,if i turn the ignition key back a qtr of a turn, and then turn the ignition back on the power returns, and then eventually disapates again, can anyone help me here please, to me this sounds like an electrical problem and not a mechanical problem, help please regards billy
BenjaminTDI
Have you checked your intake manifold for clogging? How many miles has it done?
