Well I have to admit that although I am over the moon that I have my A4 Cab, I was sad to leave my A3 behind frown.gif

I bought the car from new 18 months ago and due to a move at work, I covered 18,500 miles in that time.

I was very dubious as to whether I was going to like DSG, but after a few months, I realised just how wrong I was!!! grin.gif

DSG is a great gearbox, and one that I feel I will miss. The ease and speed of the paddles made every driving experience feel like a computer game grin.gif and for those boring city journeys the "D" or "S" modes were excellent.

I moved to the A3 from an A4 Cab, and didnt notice that much loss in space. The trim in the S-Line was great and the all black, (including Piano Black trim cool.gif) was great at night with the red glow of the interior light pack and the dials.

The performance of the PD140 2.0TDi really shocked me, once it had been run in it really did pull well. As for Economy, on a recent trip to Barnsley, I achieved 59.9mpg 169144-ok.gif and around town always saw well over 40mpg 169144-ok.gif

The colour, Misano Red, is a very nice looking colour although unless people are that in the know, or look closely they thought it was Brilliant red smashfreakB.gif.

All in all, it was only the lure of another cabriolet that made me change, the A3 was the longest staying Audi I have owned so far and I was really impressed by it.

I really will miss that car and would not be surprised if I have another in the future. A lot of people may see the A3 as the "boring option" but I cannot reccomend it enough beerchug.gif

When you, Tony and me went to get food the night before the meet in Poole last year I remember thinking that, actually. Looked great 169144-ok.gif

Hi audi_smitten it's good to hear from someone who has had as much fun driving an A3 as i'm having. I too love the DSG box smlove2.gifand I know already it's gonna be hard to move back to a manual when the time eventually comes.

The S-line styling is great and really makes a big difference to the overall driving experience 169144-ok.gif

Good luck with the Cabrio!

Even Ian-paintcode-C made that mistake, although to be fair I think that was the first time I met you before I got to see the car in the flesh as you arrived at MK in JC's TQS.

Good end of term review. Know what you mean about PD 140 A3s being little rockets!

Cheers buddy beerchug.gif

I have to say that the A3 was truly fantastic, and I have already gone to change gear with the paddles, that are no longer there frown.gif169144-ok.gif
