No doubt this thread will yield bucket loads of mockery and piss-taking, but I still think the information is interesting.

BMW have released some NEW CAR (i.e. not used car purchases) Customer Profile information. Here are a few snippets from it.

BMW Customer Profiles

The average age of a BMW Driver is 47 years old. EEK2.GIF

Average ages across the range is as follows:

1-series...45

3-series...47

5-series...50

6-series...49

7-series...50

Z4.........44

X3.........47

X5.........45

The 7-series and X5 are mostly owned by company owners or those that have retired.

The X5 is also the most 'shared' car between husbands and wives.

The Z4 is the car most owned by young professionals.

The 3-series is mostly owned by people occupying a managerial position, but increasingly popular with those that have recently retired.

40% of 6-series owners are owners of companies, this being alomost double the percentage of company owners in any other model. In which case, I'm slacking. blush.gif

23% of 3-series owners manage in excess of 100 staff.

10% of 1-series registrations are for Sales Representative use. ooo.gif

More than 1 in 5 of the 5-series owners' are Company Directors.

The most popular pastimes for BMW owners are as follows:

1-series owners...Keeping fit

3-series owners...Reading - more than any other model & Short breaks

5-series owners...Travel/Holidays

6-series owners...Golfing (a whopping 51%....and I don't play that either!!!) & Football/Rugby Spectating (that's better!)

7-series owners...Golfing (50%) & Cinema/Theatre (29%)

Z4........Spectator sports

X3........Reading & Spectator sports

X5........Golfing & Travel

The 6-series, apparently, has the most consistent customer profile. Ummmm. It supposedly has a higher percentage of Golfing owners than any other known manufacturers model!!! Well sorry BMW, but Golf bores the pants off me so I'm ruining your statistics! grin.gif

A few more interesting bits....the 3-series, bought new, isn't actually driven by many Sales Representatives at all. Lot's of Middle Manager's drive them though. ROLLEY~14.GIF

The most popular 'Walkers' (as in hiking etc) are apparently Z4 owners.

Finally, X3 owners exercise less than any other model owners. Ummmmmm, betcha I can disprove that one... yelrotflmao.gif

I'd hate to see Honda's stats for age profiles.........

You might be surprised. The average age of a Honda 'car' owner is 42. The highest in 'sector' is 47...and that's Toyota.

The age of 42 is the same age of an average Nissan and VW owner apparently. shocked.gif

Audi stats are as follows....

The average age of an Audi owner is 43.

Audi has more sub-45 year old customers than any other 'prestige' brand. This is largely accredited to the success of the Audi TT.

A2 - 47 years old

A3 - 39 years old

A4 - 41 years old

A6 - 44 years old

A8 - 45 years old

For some reason the TT isn't individually listed.

Well you won't like this then Lottie....

Because I have all sorts of statistics here and the average age of a Boxster owner is the highest for any 'sports car'...at an incredible 51 years of age! It's actually higher than the average age of a 911 owner (46 years old)!!!
