Fuzzb3k
Hi all, I just had my 06 A4 delivered last week and have been enjoying the ride etc. but today I gave my colleagues a lift and they commented that there was not much sound coming out in the back, despite the volume being at 15 and bass set to 6. I then set the fade to rear and asked them how that was and they said it wasn't much different. Once I had parked up I cranked up the sound to 15, bass to 6 and faded it all to rear again and put my hand over the sub in the rear parcel shelf and couldn't feel a thing (apart from the vibrations from the other speakers), which suggests that it isn't working as intended. I had hoped that turning the bass up to maximum and fading it all to rear would have the rear shelf bouncing with a boom boom effect, but there is literally no vibration coming from the rear parce shelf speaker. I am going into the dealer tomorrow for them to have a look at it and check out another A4 to see if it is just me, but has anyone else had this problem? Lynas
faulty speaker / fuse? Get it replaced. I don't have BOSE but my rear sub thingy works a treat. Didnt even realise it was there until a mate pointed it out 5 days after getting the car.
scoggers
Got to say that I am not that impressed with the lack of bass from the audi bose system - does anyone know if the A4 avant with bose would have a sub? Is there a way to get more bass from this system without getting a new head unit?
IanHo
The Avant with BOSE does have a sub, in the boot and it is . Too small to be of any use, although the system as a whole isn't too bad. I've just had a Saloon with BOSE and the sub is much beefier you can get the back window shaking. The sound levels on mine seem fine in the back, in fact on some tracks they are more noticable than the front, never had to turn the bass up from 0 either. Avus_Bub
I woudn't say the Bose was that bad in the Avant. It matters a lot on what you play through it (like all HiFi) You can always fit a new amp' and put a 10 incher in the N/S 1/4 panel......... IanHo
Sorry Bub, wasn't saying it was bad, just the bass is a bit lacking, the quality and clarity is excellant, esp. with good source material. Just that out of the box the Saloon with BOSE is better IMO, due to the layout of the car & bigger sub, not as thought I'm into earth shattering bass. Avus_Bub
No need to apologise old chap, I knew what tree you were barking up! I've never heard a Bose saloon, so can't comment. BUB
Fuzzb3k
Well I've just got back from the dealership and it is a problem with the speaker/wiring so the car has to go in on the 2nd May to be repaired. Not really what I wanted 1 week into ownership, but nevermind, I get a DTM as a courtesy car.
