Avus_Bub
[ QUOTE ] Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you. [/ QUOTE ] That's gonna hurt in the morning........... Looks like understeer,Pincher? RossG
These people are absolute wallopers IMO. There has been a huge thread on Pistonheads about this, along the lines of how much of a bad name, these knobs give realy enthusiats who like to drive their high perfromance cars on the road with other like minded enthusiats. Talk about a sure fire way to make the greens (and associated wakos) turn their gund from SUVs to us... Such a watse of lovely cars.
NewNiceMrMe
Their cars though aren't they? I have to say if I had their money I'd probably want to do something similar. Besides, if you're gonna be in a bad crash - what better car that a Rolls Royce Phantom!!!!!!!!

NeilB
I'm not their biggest fans either Ross. In my eyes they are nothing more then guys with too much money and time on thier hands. And that they just seem to give the likes of brake and Transport 2000 more ammo to keep throwing at the goverment to say that fast cars are killers. MOSE
God the owners got a long way to go yet, before he beats the image of the Gold RR in the original Gumball Rally. Now that was a car that was abused!! Pah, a slight blemish and it makes fecking headlines!! Amateurs!

Tarmac_Terrorist
I saw a feature on 'Men & Motors' a long while back on the Gumball as they spent time with participants. Many (not all) have more money than sense but it must be incredible fun all the same. All fairly light hearted good fun IMO.
NewNiceMrMe
Think of it this way... Take any one of our cars. Publish a picture of it in an accident. Your average person will say....lunatic was probably going far too fast. Perception, much of it. Just my opinion.

Pincher
Slightly O/T but who in the Gumball is Nods? As far as I can work out, he crashed a (his?) Lambo somewhere in Thailand and got detained by the police until he opened his wallet, whereupon he was released. He then took a private jet to Bangkok but the the delay with the police meant he might have missed a chartered flight so he booked a private Jumbo Jet to fly to Salt Lake City Whoever he is, he must have a serious bundle of cash somewhere. I wonder if he's ever been to Tonbridge???

5to1
The guys at High Wycombe were just telling me about this yesterday. Apparently they also lost a Murci Spyder, which is on its way back for repair. And the phantom was taking on something Italian, and doing rather well. Until a corner came up and one of the wheels didn't fancy taking that much load at XXX Speeds.
