Booster
It could be that as you are having to hold the key longer for the engine to fire it is draining the battery significantly. With modern batteries they can just fail without warning as opposed to the ones years ago where they would just "fade" out. Trip to the stealers (or independent if out of warranty) for you I'm afraid . Could be that it needs new plugs.
Keith_S3
Cheers for the quick reply was hoping to avoid that, Is it worth getting a new battery or just charging mine and then getting it hooked up to vag-com??

fjfr
I've got this now. 3 jump starts in 3 days (after a light was left on), and I'm worried about leaving her. I even drove for 3 hours raggin it to charge the battery, but it was still flat in the morning What I've been doing for the past 2 days is turning off the motion detecter before I lock it - it has started ok since then.. I'm gonna keep doing that till I'm happy with it then put the motion sensor back on to see if its ok. I'm convinced it is the motion sensor that is draining it (as I presume its not 100% healthy atm.) as my dad's mini will be flat if not started for 10 days due to this. Hope that helps. Paul
could be the motion sensor setting the alarm off? it sounds (quietly) for a while, then just flashes the imndicators, which you may or maynot have picked up. vagcom will tell you if the alarms been triggered by motion sensor. Just not when, or how many times.
DHA
My battery in my S3 died after the radio went faulty. The backlight stayed on in the radio, it was almost impossible to see when it was sunny in the daytime.

All I know is that now I've switched off the motion sensor, the battery is doing ok.
