tim1974
Hello everyone, I've recently bought a 2002 black X5 3.0d sport with auto gearbox. It has no problems with pulling away etc but if idling at 30mph and then accelerate, get a clunk from under car and it jerks forward, only does it in full auto or 4th gear on manual. wondering if anyone else had similar problem ?related to torque ?propshaft. Many thanks tim
cruiser647
Have a look at the BMW Technical forum, for my post about X5 gearbox issues.
tim1974
Thanks, I now think that the rear bushes that attach axle to subframe are worn. I get similar noise when driving over uneven surface, worse when accelerate at low revs when upchange in gear box. Think that this is causing rear axle to knock against subframe. Will get them replaced and see!
