Waylander
HI Car has just come back from the bodyshop having a little work done to the driver-side after some knobby motocyclist drove into me. They bodyshop had agreed to re-diamondbrite the whole car after they were finished but only re-applied it to the parts that had been resprayed. The QA Shopfloor manager thought he'd try bullying me into submission but after a free and frank exchange of views caved in and it is going back to have the whole car re-Diamond-brited. Now - the driver side and rear looks as new, but I have a few small scratched on the wheel arches on the passenger side. Re application of the diamondbrite: is this slapped on like a wax by hand, or do they buff it on? Basically what I mean is will the application process remove monir scratches or not? As they are doing it under sufferance I don't hold much hope pf them doing anything they don't "have to" in the application process [ie use some elbow grease to polish out these imperfections] so if they won't have to do it I might take the car to a local valetter to polish them out - may as well use this opportunity to get the car looking as close to brand new as I can... input appreciated. Johna1
It might mask the scratches a bit as the lifshine did to our a6 as it was worse when it was hot washed. Its not as tough as people think lifeshine or dimondbrite. Comes off in a hot pressure wash. But id get the scratches done before putting the dimondbrite on again. Waylander
took the car to my local hand wash place [clean cars on the A34 ] and the guy spent a good 2 hours polishing then machine-buffing out alot of the minor [and not so minor ] scrapes and scratches until the paint is as smooth as a baby's bum!
