Rustynuts
Most likely the linkage mechanism siezing up. I've heard of it before, and perhaps some spray grease will help?
pingpongpo
Could be the motor though if the windings are breaking down.
collease
Mine have been doing this. Its very unlikely its the motor. I had mine checked recently and they found nothing wrong with the motors. I found that spraying the linkage with WD40 while the wipers were working makes them work again. You will probably find if it rains hard that the wipers will sort themselves out. mulkbear
In 99.9999% of all cases it is the wiper linkage, which is only around £15 to buy and is a 1/2 to 1 hour job to fit.
