Johna1
Hi everyone, My mum has had her 1.5 DCI Megane 3 door Dynamique for just over a year now (brand new) and since the day we baught it, its been nothing but trouble. With in a Year its had a gear box, 2 clutch assemblys, window regulators, steering bits, three slots where the card goes in, Various bits of trim and yesterday complete brake failure. Brakes either didntwork or stuck on. Renault made it worse by driving the car with the brakes half on wearing the pads and discs as well as the damge to the alloy wheels. (Pitting due to heat of dust etc). All paid for under warrenty. We have had a New megane before that and three clios all of a high spec every two years yet didint have such problems with them thank god. Renault have agreed to Give us a new one (facelift with choice of colour and extras up to £1450) and give the deposit back as well as all the monthly repayments. They have also given us a new clio top spec (even has wood trim ) Until the new one arives. Just thought id post this to see if anyone has had such problems
showtime
sounds like that car was a bit of a Dud i've worked on Renaults for 22 years now & i've never seen one have that many problems, i can't remember ever having to change a card reader on a MegII! we did get a few silly problems with some of the early MegII's but we've not had any as bad as your car sounded! at least you have use of a top spec Clio now which should hopefully give you a much better experience of Renault products if it has wood trim it sounds like it must be an "Initiale" ? they are quite nice little cars although for a small car the Clio has grown with every new model & isn't actually that small now at least it sounds like your dealers have come through for you & sorted you with a new car, lets hope this one works out better for you
RossG
Mrs RossG has a 1.5DCi as a company car. 17k in it's first 6 months and the only thing that went wrong was the fuel injection system - which was replaced under warranty. It's now on 20k and apart from brakes that appear done (snatchy and noisy) everything is still good. It's a complete 'appliance' car - but compared to the r32 is is lovely and annoymous - and very very frugal
Johna1
Ross G our brakes were like that before they failed. My mum had ordered a new one now the same spec except in that Bright Blue with the 17inch steppe wheels and body colouyred plastics which they have added as a no cost thing. there could be one in stock somewhere but not sure max dilvery time could be 8 weeks. The clio is a nice little car. Something feels a bit cheap and nasty plastic wise. is the wood trim easy to change or somthing as it was clipped on properly and i took it off and just clips back in lol. Dealer has been very helpfull but they should be after having 5 cars of them in the past 7 years.
cruiser647
That is a great result. I wonder if that would happen here in the UK?
