Chrisg
are they in line or transverse engine? It's just that I've spotted DSG as an option and if it is inline then........ The B8 must be about to get it Gee....... Skoda getting inline DSG first !! Oh and cruise is only £150 extra http://www.skoda.co.uk/skoda3g/content/showroom/newoctavia/pricing.aspx
Rachel
If it is based on the Passat or Golf platform, it'll be transverse. Audi's are inline except for the A3/S3 and smaller. I read somewhere too that Audi are slowly breaking away from the rest of the VAG group - there was mention somewhere (either here in TSN or VWVortex) about them being 12 years into a 15 year plan to go solo... s4_sat
The a2 and A3 were transverse. the octavia/golf/polo/lupo/fabia are transverse too.
R32North
Its based on the MKV golf platform (as is the Passat), and yes its tranverse.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, was mentioned on here a few times by a few of us. An Audi dealer once told me that they used to try new platform changes or designs on Skoda first. Probably so as to not face embarrassing problems with the premium brand if it all went pear shaped.

Anyways, Skoda Octy vRS Diesel in the pipeline. Now add 4MO and DSG to that, 170ps and the MKV underpinnings and you have my (almost) perfect car
