Driving home from work tonight and the radio has completely locked up, no response from any of the buttons even when I switch off the ignition and re-start, it just comes back on at the same volume and no keys working, anyone had a simillar problem ?

edited to add it switches off when I remove the key but then just re-starts when I re-insert the key and it's locked on a really crappy radio station mad.gif

grin.gif Sounds like a right pain in the rear mate - which stereo is it in your Boxster?

My CDR24 (Sound Package Pro) sometimes gets 'stuck' but has always sorted its life out when turning the ignition off then on again.

I've got the 'sound package plus' (not Bose) I might try disconecting the battery before a call to the dealer, I just need to find it first grin.gif

Mine had a dud PCM module. Only found out after the power was pulled to replace the instrument cluster (had a scratch on the speedo glass) and the stereo only partially "came back" and the CD units wouldn't work at all.

You may have a similar problem - ask the dealer and use that warranty (and ask for a new GT3 as a loan car). 169144-ok.gif

I disconnected the battery (negative terminal 10mm socket) re-connected and it's back to normal ! One strange thing, on starting the car back up it reported PSM failure but I just switched it off (the PSM switch) and back on again and the message has cleared, I was a little worried after reading your message Rachel but all seems well now, I going to do a track day in September with the dealler and they will have a GT3 there so fingers crossed for a go grin.gif

I think it will be the same at my dealer come service time, white cayenne's all round last time I was there mad.gif and after pleading poverty to get a deal when I bought it I guess they won't be falling over themselves to hand me the keys to anything better !

The guys at the local dealer told me the PSM error was common. It can be reset by driving about 10km (or more) and when you turn off the car, it should be all reset. Apparently it takes time as it does things like lots of measurements on steering angle and brake and ... The little (PSM) computer is apparently pretty fussy. smile.gif
