Magic1973
Hey guys, I have an Audi 3.0 quattro (2001 on a "Y" plate). The stereo system is Chorus but I am only getting sound from the front speakers. I have tried switching "fader" to the rear but still nothing. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong. Surely the speakers in the rear are not there for cosmetic purposes only??? Any ideas would be great, Thanks Brendan
andyollie
the raer speakers are powered by a wee amp, maybe it is fecked?
Magic1973
Would I have to bring it to a car radio specialist or is there any way to check it myself? Where is the amp located? Cheers B
shark_90
The amp is behind the cowling in the boot on the right hand side, between the fuel filler cap and the light cluster, if you can imagine what I mean. Getting the cowling off without breaking it is a bit of an art and it takes some force, but it will almost undoubtedly be the amp that's fecked. Same thing happened to mine (also Y reg) only a couple of months back. There's no fuse on the amp itself (unless it's internal) so the best thing to do is buy one from a dealer (70odd quid+VAT I think) or try a few breakers. I got mine from a breaker for £40.
