EssFour
[ QUOTE ] German motorways are generally crap - much worse than in UK (imho). We drove our old 1.8 T to Austria or Italy half a dozen times - perhaps its just that particular 500 miles that are lumpy? French motorways are what we need to emulate here - its worth the tolls. [/ QUOTE ] German autobhans are crap, mostly concrete, but their A and B road are miles better than in blighty.
h5djr
You obviously drive a different way to Austria to me. The autobahns I use are not concrete, are smooth and a pleasure to drive on. I agree the French autoroutes are also very good and with generally much less traffic than either our motorways or the German autobahns. The best thing about many stretches or autobahn is the 'no overtaking by lorries' signs and the fact that there is not speed limit, except where necessary. harj
The more i see of this new S3 the more dissapointed i get that it doesn't look as aggressive as the current model . Truth is i cant afford the new one and even if i could i wouldn't be buying it. The exterior is VERY dissapointing and bland, alloys don't do anything for the car in my view. I would guess that Audi are saving their imaginative minds for the RS3!

Decent second hand one for about 41k or a new S3 with the necessary toys for 33k. no brainer really. And that sports exhaust on the C4S, wow! But i cant help but think that they've not even tried with the S3 that there must be something up their sleeves. I mean i can see the new S3 with wider arches bigger exhaust, lower suspension etc etc... it would look soooo good
Gabster
Extra wide arches means new body panels means more production headaches keep it simple stick a few extra badges on it and a bigger lump at the end. Its a shame that production systems now designs cars more and more. Thats why I went to Audi and BMW on Saturday and only the Z4M and the RS4 excited me. Rest was musch of a muchness and I would not even waste my time going to a MB dealer.
