Damunk Posted September 16, 2006 Report Share Posted September 16, 2006 I was driving and as soon as I pressed he clutch down. it snapped. and the pedal is now loose.. Help??? Si_GTi Posted September 16, 2006 Report Share Posted September 16, 2006 Sounds like the clutch cable has snapped, this happened on my GTi and I called out VW Assistance, the technician was able to manually adjust it so that the cable worked enough for me to get it home, and then the next day to the dealership for a new cable! A brand new clutch cable, if that is the fault (90% sure from your description) cost me £30 inc. edition30 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Share Posted September 16, 2006 its always worth checking with your local dealer to see if the modified pedal box has been fitted, as they snap around the clutch pedal mounting point.......if it hasnt and it falls in the chassis range then it will be a free repair....
