Folding mirrors!!!

Been playing around with my mirror switch trying to get the nearside to dip in reverse... without any luck.

However in the process... I managed to turn the switch fully anti clockwise and the Mirrors folded!!!

Guess I'm gonna go throught the drivers handbook tonight and look for more features smile.gif

One thing puzzles me though... why have folding mirrors if they dont dip in reverse, are they separate features?

Mine too... On a '98 4.2QS.

Mirrors fold and if it's turned to the 'L' and you pop it in reverse the mirror dips. A bit disconcerting until you get used to it.

Didn't realise I had them until I read a post here the other day. Though I'm still looking on eBay to see if there's a kitchen sink or toilet option going cheap smile.gif

Hmm.. suppose you could tap the circuit for the total closure feature when you hold down the locking button to close the windows and sunroof remotely. A couple relays and wiring ought to do the trick grin.gif

Oh Atomic thats another feature for your diary tongue.gif

Hmm theres a total close?

Is there ? I didnt know that either.

Is this another 'VAG-able' option like the 'lock at 5mph' and 'beep on lock' options?

Don't think it's an option - should be standard. Just keep holding down the 'lock' button on the key until the windows and sunroof have closed. Make sure you hold it down straight away - if you press it brefly and then hold it it doesn't always seem to work.
