JimLoskot
I ned to replace one of the mat attachment things that was broken in the rear footwell. I got the new bit, prised the old one off but the lower bit has dropped into a gap underneath it so I can't push the new top bit onto it. I need to get a hand underneath and push up. What is the easiest way to get under the carpet? I tried pulling out the door trim but it didn't want to come off very easily so I retreated before I broke anything. Any advise please

timps
If you remove the rear seat (very easy but be careful when putting back the black plastic lugs can break) Will be tight but should give you enough access. Bench seat • Removing • Lift seat bench in direction of arrow -A- and pull forward in direction of arrow -B-. • Take side airbag connector out of recess => Fig.:1 To remove the wheel housing trim requires you to remove nearly all the other trims 1 Wheel housing trim • Removing o Remove lower B-pillar trim => Page 70-105. o Remove C-pillar trim => Page 70-108. o Remove side padding => Page 72-163. o Unclip the three clips -2- from their retainers -3- and remove wheel housing trim -1-. • Installing o After installing trim ensure seal is seated correctly. 2. Clips (3x) 3. Retainers (3x) Edited to add : you can get away with removing just the seat & side padding. The wheel house trim will not detach completely (due to the B & C pillar trims) but it will give you more access.
