Airbag deactivation can be retrofitted to the B6 and B7 regardless of it being a Cabriolet or not. Airbag Deactivation and Front ISOFIX was made standard on B7's half way through the 2006MY.

Parts you need from memory are;

>> 8E-3-100000

New Glovebox loom

New Upper Interior Light

Key Switch (to Barrel number)

Various Connectors and Plugs

Plus coding into the vehicle

8E-3-100000>>

New Glovebox loom

'Airbag Off' Switch for Dashboard

Bracket for above switch

Blanking Caps for above Bracket

Key Switch

Various Connectors and Plugs

Strange. My S4 Cab spent several days in a well respected Audi dealer's with a bill of over £1000 before Audi UK admitted that the Cab could not be retrofitted with the switch.

There was a document about that.

WARNING

There is no provision for service installation of the key-operated switch to deactivate front passenger side airbag -E224- on the Audi S4 Cabriolet with V8 engine.

There is no need for service installation of the key-operated switch to deactivate front passenger side airbag -E224- and the front passenger side airbag deactivated warning lamp -K145- on the Audi A4 Cabriolet 2003 ►.

Indeed! I never got a sensible answer for why it couldn't be done. However, it is standard on the B7 S4 Cab.

Just had a look at my car seats, is Isofix like metal hoops at the back of the seat between the back and the bottom of the seat ?

Always thought ISofix had covers over the fixing points and had a fixing point in the floor (i dont have a fixing point in the floor, but do have these metal loops at the back of all seats except the driver seat)
