Found this somewhere else:

[ QUOTE ]

there is a green/yellow wire that goes along the passenger side to the BC-1 computer that has the vehicle speed sensor signal on it. It is battery voltage (12-14 volt square wave with a frequency/pulse that indicates rate of speed. Believe it is 50% duty cycle.

Once again, not 100% but something else to look into 169144-ok.gif

Also, this was from a US site, so adjust "Sides" accordingly wink.gif

I tested one of the Green/yellow wires, and no go. Any other suggestions?

Matt

PS, I think the red/white for the JCW box is an RPM lead, not a Vss signal.

But I did find a red/white signal that appears to be vehicle speed. I just wish I knew where it started and where it goes to! It is a square wave that goes between zero and Vbatt with a 50% duty cycle. It's in the same bundle of wires next to the right hand side frame rail. You have to take out the frame rail cover to find the bundle.

OK, I made a boo boo. It's not a red/white wire, it's a yellow wire with a thin green line on it. So the quoted post above was close....

But I still don't know where it comes from, or where it goes. Anyone know where to get Mini Cooper schematics?

Thanks,

Matt

ps, the attachement is a photo of the wire.....
