So, I finally got around to trying this out and - hey presto - it works! grin.gif Sorry about the crap photos, not my camera so I didn't know how to turn the flash off. blush.gif

I just created a playlist in iTunes and burnt it as a MP3 CD. It even displays the Artist, Album and Track Name. I was considering the iPod adaptor but now I can have about 60 albums avaiable direct from the head unit. Awesome.

I need to play a bit more as I think that if you stick the albums into separate folders you can select them individually rather the CD playing as one big list.

Does anybody have the RCD500 manual that explains the MP3 functions? I never got one with my car (import) and haven't bothered to get hold of one.

Er, yeah, it took a while didn't it?!

So the UK model RCD500 still doesn't have MP3 function, I thought the later models might as someone mentioned a Polo with MP3 in another thread. Interesting.

What a bonus for me, I actually have no idea which country my car came from but I collected it July 2007.

As some of you guys have found out theres more than one version of the RCD500, only the ones with MP3 below the CD slot can play MP3s the others don't, It does seem hit and miss if you get this unit in the UK 90% of the time you don't unless there was a screw up on the production line or its an import.
