Phantom
Just had this come on this evening, the same thing happened on my old cab and turned out to be a loose pipe going into the cat converter. I am guessing it is probably the same sort of thing. Is there a chance it could be something else? Thanks
lmmlmmam
I think there is a fair range of different faults that could cause this. A dealer visit is the only way forward. Is it still running OK? Hope you get it sorted OK CM
Phantom
Got it booked in for Friday, one of those things where I am not going to risk driving it any long distance just in case. So working from home this week Annoyingly the light went off as I left the dealer this morning but hopefully the fault code will have been logged

TDiAvant
Is the car using oil, any black smoke from the rear?
Phantom
Nope, the car has hardly used any oil since I got it and that was 12k miles ago.
stig414
My A6 had the same problem. After a new EGR valve, pair of intake flap motors, and a new turbo, the light has been off for weeks now! Audi warranty came up trumps
Phantom
So just had a call from the dealer, my car needs a new lambda probe , it essentially measures the amount of air going through the engine and into the cat converter. They did say the engine / cat could be damaged if it was not replaced quickly so my car will be left with them for a few days. Now got to wait nearly a week to get the part as it is on back order and in the meantime I am going to get some sort of courtesy car, not sure what yet, but if they want to loan me their RS4 avant for a few days then I won't complain I orginally took the car in last Monday, as they have stopped doing their 'drop in' while u wait service. So I had to wait until today to get the car in and also had to spend the week working from home
