jamesR
Has anyone had problems with oncoming cars and trucks flashing highbeam when your only on dipped Xenon? I drive mostly in the city, but during a recent 800km night trip between Melbourne and Adelaide almost every other vehicle flashed. I thought the Xenons were self leveling, but do they need calibrating?
rs32
my local dealer and APS have done calibration using the VAG-COM equipment and found a level fault both times - there is a specific function for recalibrating the lights
Trefor
You should definitely be able to adjust them. That is so that the baseline from which the self-levelling mechanism works is lower to start with. I'd ask a dealer to help if you can't see any suitable screws. mikemod
You can use the mechanical adjusters on the back of the light units. Next time you switch on the car the lights find this new centre point automatically. I lowered mine slightly when I bought the car, under the advice from the dealer, and haven't been flashed since
Snoopy
This has been a common problem in the UK that the Xenon Lights were set too high from the factory in RHD cars and were suppose to be tested on the PDI before the cars are given to the customers. Its been discussed a great deal in the past on here in the past 2 years. Your dealer should set them up for you properly free of charge as its a known problem. evosapper
Sorry bud, but before I go and twist and tweak something I shouldn't can you give me a few more details and if possible a photo or two?
seanie4
I've had this problem many times before. I have to say I found the dealer was pretty useless at adjusting it. One time they were so low I couldn't see at night and another they were so high that nobody else could see! They are really easy to adjust, there is an allen key bolt on the top of the light marked U and D. Turn in the direction you want to raise or lower. Hope this helps
evosapper
Thanks, I'll give it a try tonight and give my fellow drivers in Camb's a chance to see where they are going for a change......
