Are there any down sides to Virosol?

Hi, I have just picked up 5 litres of Virosol ready to do battle with my alloy wheels.

I have used Wonder wheels for a number of years but I am always worried about using acid based products.

Reading around suggests a 4:1 dilution with water for the wheels. Am I correct here? Is it going to cause damage to anything like coloured calipers, paintwork or even the tarmac drive? I have a new S3 on order with the logo on the black calipers and I don't want them to go peculiar!!

What other jobs are you all using it for?

Thank you for your thoughts, prt57

I use virisol at 1:1 dilution for wheels - spray on let it soak in and jet wash off. Second spray let it soak in and sponge off - works off the tough dirt. Haven't found a down side to it yet. Used wonder wheels for a long time but it is very harsh and over time knackered the wheels, plus it stings like hell if you have any cuts!!! I got virisol after readign all the rave revies on here - and it's not bad at all!

anyone that has seen my car , when clean can vouch for Viro-sol use.

Ive been using it for 3= years and covered 48k miles, and my wheels are still as bright and shiny as they were from new.

I usually use it 50/50 or stronger.

I dont use it on the paint work of the car as it will strip off all my wax. Ok if you want to start from begining, but i wouldnt recommend it unless you get it off quickly.

Also great for freshening up drains, and giving the wheelie bin a freshen up.
