allawee
i have a bora 2000 x-reg 115 SE tdi. The intermittent wiper does not work. When it is flicked to that position it works once and stopps. But when left in that position, it just does not do anything! There are other electrical intermittent faults, which I am not sure if they are all related! the computer display sometimes disappears and I have to switch the car on and off to get it to come on again. The radio and central dash lights sometimes go off and a light punch does the job. Not sure what I need to check or what the fault is. Your help will be greatly appreciated. vwgolfman
With regards to the intermittent wiper, it sounds as though something is up with the switch which determines the delay time between each wipe.
allawee
First, thank for your reply but plz excuse my complete ignorance here, where is that switch? and what does it look like?!
Rustynuts
Might be a daft question but does your car have automatic wipers rather than intermittent? What you describe is the behaviour of that type of system while it senses the screen to see if there's any water to remove. They do a test wipe when you turn them on and then they don't wipe until there's rain hitting the windscreen, and you have to reactivate them again when you turn the engine on again after stopping. [/ QUOTE ] If your car has this function, you will have a sensor behind your rear view mirror which is visable from outside, and an adjuster on top of your wiper control switch which varies the amount of rain needed between wipes. Thinking about it, the SE model was fitted with a rain sensor intermittend wiper system
allawee
My passat has this function and I know how it works. The bora is my wife's car. Could it be that the sensor has gone, or is there a fuse somehwere that I need to check? I have tried to activate it when it rainsm but it goes once and stops! if it is the sensor, is it easy to change? thanks again
