Blueone30
I have been told by others on a few occasions that I have a reversing light out. Can anyone give me a logical explanation as to why the new model A6's have only one reversing light. I can just about accept only one fog light. Out of curiosity I removed the off side rear light cluster to have a look and found that the bulb holder complete with bulb is there. Dealer says - that the way it is - and could not offer an explanation other that that's the way they all are. Just interested - thats all!

stig414
Do you have LED brake lights/xenon lamps? if so you only have one reverse lamp, on the ns. A cheap and pathetic excuse imho, it is crap! I would much prefer one either side
Blueone30
I have active Xenons (the ones that turn with the steering) but standard bulb type rear lights. Interior lighting pack complete with leds under the door mirrors. As far as I can tell LED rear lights are only fitted to the Avant - mine is a saloon. To be honest the single rear reversing light is useless. Mind you the rear parking sensor system on the mmi is brilliant There must be some logic in all of this somewhere. stig414
I also have adaptive light, but my lower level brake lights, i.e the ones in the clusters are LED's, below these are three standard bulbs for the rear lamps. Hope that makes sense? I do not mean the avant type which are two squares in appearance either side, as they also have LED indicators, my car only has LED brake lamps, one reverse, one fog and six tail bulbs. Blueone30
Your are quite correct I have had a look and the brake lights are leds. I suppose I was expecting something more obvious such as the avant set up. you live and learn

stig414
The reversing light is still crap though, I hate it. For a £30k + car its is disgusting, I asked the dealer and that is how I got such a good answer when I complained!
1970JON
yes must admit that they do not give out much light and noticably less than my previous car (BMW E46 touring)

Blueone30
Are you absolutley sure you have two working reversing lights on your A6. I have seen a few other A6's with only one reversing light. Even my dealer confirm that this was the standard.
DNay
I specifically checked after reading the original post on the subject. I actually got out the car to check rather than relying on a reflection in the garage door as I backed up! So, yes.
