Kwik-Fit damaged my sill!!!

So, I took my car to Kwik-Fit by my Audi dealership today to have the two front tyres replaced under insurance as they both had slow punctures. ROLLEY~14.GIF

I've been going there for a while and they have never damaged my car before, also I'm obliged to use Kwik-Fit as that's who my insurance specifies I use. smirk.gif

Anyway, they attempted to jack my car up on a two poster ramp and upon doing so they managed to dent inwards my sill and bend the seal from the floorpan away from the sill! mad.gif

Anyway, they're a decent bunch and I didn't get angry, just mentioned that they would be paying for the repairs under their insurance. I've acquired an admission of the damage in writing and I'm supposed to be seeing the manager next week as he wasn't in today.

However, I'm just not sure as to whether I should take the car to Audi for an estimate of repair or a bodyshop? It's not major by any means but I'd like to get it sorted rather than leave it to niggle me.

What would you do in this situation?

They've also managed to chip a wheel which they've also put in writing.

Thanks people! 169144-ok.gif

Also, what do most on here do when they're changing tyres? I cna't seem to find anyone who doesn't damage my car when they do it!!! confused.gif

Not good but at least they have been decent about it. Its a pity that you have to use Kwik Fit as I find that the small local places are far better. I've been using the same firm for years. They don't use air wrenches on cars with alloys so they don't chip your wheels. They also do my Mrs' 17" Mini wheels which are runflats and a right PITA. Its having two new Pirellis fitted on Monday for £115 each and that is a very good price as Blackcircles are charging £126.

I had my Rover damaged by them. Because of the lowered suspension you couldn't put it a regular lift, so I thought they'd use trolley jacks. Nope. They got two Trainee's to lift the front corners of the car so they could get it onto the lift. Cue a dent in both wings in the shape of a hand. That cost them.

And don't even mention last years fiasco where they didn't tighten the wheelbolts on one corner when changing tyres on the Passat. Never going near them again.

I've just had the quote for repairs to my car, £500 plus VAT!!! shocked.gif

It's going to an Audi approved centre quite close to where I live and they specialise in VAG and Porsche....Can't imagine Kwik-Fit are gonna be too pleased at that quote but hey ho! the_finger.gif

Out of interest, I have to see the manager with the quote on Thursday and was wondering if I'm well within my rights to specify where it will go to be repaired and what to do if he kicks up a stink? smirk.gif

I noticed the damage as I had a look under the car when it was on the lift. The arm on the passenger side was way too far back and subsequently bent the seam. frown.gif

I had already reluctantly handed the keys over and informed the guy that 'Colin', nice guy who normally changes my tyres uses a trolley jack with a huge pad as close to the wheels as possible. Employee said he'd use the lift as it was safer and just as he was about to set it up another employee shouted out that my car was too heavy for it!

I said I trusted him not to damage it and that they would be paying for it if they did, so he went ahead......and damaged it!

I noticed the positioning of one of the arms didn't look quite right and quickly stuck my head under the car to see that the sill was bending. I informed him of this and he quickly lowered it stating he would use a trolley jack instead. ROLLEY~14.GIF

It was then that I went into the waiting area and told the assistant manager what had just happened and asked what would be done about it. I was told not to worry as they would knock it out for me!!! AS FECKING IF!!!!!!!! mad.gif

I then got them to print out a reciept with damages and sign it admitting liability which I don't think he really wanted to do and required some pestering. I told them I would get a quote and come back next week when the manager was around to arrange reimbursement. Also took photos of the damaged area with my mobile in their workshop. They're not great but do show the damage.

I'm slightly worried however that they may attempt to make me pay for the repairs first and them reimburse me later which I'm not cool with.

Does anyone know what is standard proceedure in these situations and what I am entitled to? confused.gif

Thanks guys! beerchug.gif
