sidlad
A friend of mine is looking at a 52 plate Volvo S60 2.4 TDI SE trim with 100K on the clock, he asked me me what i knew about them, what they were like and any known problems with them, but i have to confess i know very little and didn't even consider them when i was looking for my diesel a couple of years ago. Does anyone have any comments, interresting facts etc about the car.
cruiser647
Cracking engine! Mileage should not matter if the history is solid. Solid interiors - if slightly bland.
garcon magnifique
The S60 D5 is better still, but I'm guessing too recent to be in budget.
T_Rifles
I have an '02 S60 D5 Auto 67K miles. Mine is the D5 (I think it was the only one available at that time). Good performance and economy combo - 49mpg (motorway bias). I've had mine since 13k and used it for a year. Then my wife used it for a year and now I have it back again because pound for pound it's excellent and the most comfortable seating position I have found (in my budget). Some software issues rectified at service (cruise, gearbox). Avoid Pirelli tyres otherwise the car will feel really wobbly. Day Time Running Lights, so bulbs are replaced often and tail lights often produce blown warnings but just need the contacts cleaning. Stereo is very good (Premium Sound is even better). Fit and finish do seem to have aged more than similar mileage VW group cars that I have owned previously, but all the bits still work.
