Yes Mark, the small tabs you mention are part of the undertray, the LCR just slips between the undertray and the bumper. Great 20 quid mod!

The 997 Turbo mod is a little more complicated. It took me quite a bit of time to shape the sides to fit the bumper but as Jimmy mentioned, I have a genuine bumper in the shed which makes life a bit easier. The problem is, as someone mentioned, they are about 160quid so bit nerve racking working on them (mine was free as it has some curb rash thanks to the orginal owner and was only meant as a prototype). Might be persuaded to do another one or at the very least, supervise/reveal the technique to get another one fitted.

As for being the loudest, Jimmy, you are but only for a little bit, as Pomme has hinted...............

The dilemma:

My car had the following bolt on engine mods: Milltek ST exhaust, Milltek sports cats and a Carbonio CAI and no remap. I needed to decide the way forward, and I saw two options.

i.) Shrick cams and a remap

ii.) Milltek Manifolds and a remap

Well after some thought I decided to get the cams and a REVO remap. Then Rocket Man’s engine died (this thread ) and this made me change my mind. I doubt the upgraded cams were the cause of the cam chain snapping, but it made me think twice. Getting the cams done is a serious engine upgrade and one that I have now put off for a while.

So I booked the car in at Awesome to get the manifolds done and my search for a remap began. After a few PM conversations between Dan and you Jimmy, I decided that the APS/Superchips one was the way forward. I emailed Ed and asked if I could get the remap done here in Manchester at my local Superchips outlet. He said I couldn’t and would either need to go to APS or Superchips in Buckingham. Well I didn’t really fancy a trip down South just to get the car remapped . So, I got in touch with my local Superchips agent and he managed to sweet talk their HQ to allowing to have the map than Dan has, along with another 40 or so maps, including those used on the VW Cup cars. Result! He also said that he would do the map on his rolling road and alter things that needed changing in order to get the best out of the car, basically a custom map.

So the plan was to get the car put on his road before the manifolds were fitted, then after to see what they had added/taken away, and then once afterwards to see what the map had done. Point to note, price of this map would be £299 Superchips remap, plus £120+VAT for the rolling road time – total £440. Another point to note this map wouldn’t be done via the diagnostic port, and would involve either a piggy back ECU or the ECU being copied to another EEPROM and then reprogrammed – i.e. no easy way to revert. Seemed like the best way forward, but a nagging voice kept saying telling me to look at REVO so I posted this on UK-MKIVS.net. I have yet to call this garage. REVO reamp would be £457.

One minute I am going to get REVO the next Superchips

On price there is no difference. On ease of the remap REVO wins. On gains Dan is very pleased with his, REVO remap is unproven as I don't know any other car with this mod list and the Stage 2. Having said that people running Stage 2 without the manifolds are very happy with the map, and if it can be altered to allow for them I truly believe it would be a good mod for the car. REVO have a good record with the MKIV .:R, whereas Superchips not as well known.

So if you're not already asleep what do you reckon?
