Hiya guys,

as the title says im looking for the part number of the new sivle badge as well as the handle and locking mechanism under it, and any of the other associated parts to the lock mechanism.

Or even better the page that would come up at the dealers on their computers.

Cheers

Hiya guys,

Ive researched this a bit, and its not too cheap, so am now thinking of doing this:

http://www.newbeetle.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=26591&stc=1&d=1166665430

its basically a hidden lock mechanism in the vw logo.

I think they used to have these on the bora?

Anyone knwo the part number?

Cantsee that link (found a forum I'm not registered on!!).

Anyway in the UK afte rthe swivel badge was found to be high cost VW replaced it with one with the hidden lock, initially there were blue / chrome but these were changed to Black / Chrome - so there will be a choice of colours for you.

Swivel type:

Blue / Chrome non Swivel:

The ones on the Beetle were operated via the central locking (there was a button in side for the boot) or with the key, Key wasnt compulsary.

When they had the swivel type badge then you could open the boot with just a pull of the hidden handle, but this was lost when it was updated.

TBH the swivel was kinda cool, and I would have thought there would have been enough NBs written off now to have picked up the parts at reasonable cost.
